Our 5th Annual Treasure Coast Gator Toast will prove to be another exciting evening celebrating the Gator Nation.

In between awarding over $20,000 in scholarships to area students and a delightful feast, hear season analysis and forecast from Gator great and current ESPN radio host, Brady Ackerman. Purchase apparel, have a chance to win tickets for the 2012 season.

$65 for non members and
$25 for children under 12.

All proceeds benefit our scholarship fund that supports Treasure Coast students.

Try your hand Thursday, April 5th 7:30 PM as we have our first Trivia Night at Kilted Mermaid in Vero Beach. A fun night for sure, this will feature special Gator trivia questions for our die-hard fans – but fear not, questions about current events, pop culture and other sports will be in the mix for those who don’t bleed orange and blue.

3 Trivia games total played,   2 games in the beginning will have Gator questions mixed in.

We will be giving out goodie bags to the winning teams for the 1st two games (8 bags total) as well as the Will Muschamp football as a raffle item.
$5 requested minimum donation.  $5 will give you 5 raffle, $10 will give you 12 raffle tickets and $20 will give you 25 raffle tickets.  Drawing at the end of the games prizes Club and Kilted will provide.

(Vero Beach, Fla. – February 2, 2012) Indian River and St. Lucie County students who will attend the University of Florida as undergraduates this fall are invited to apply for a scholarship from the Treasure Coast Gator Club. Scholarship applications must be postmarked by March 5 and are available in the guidance offices of all public and private high schools, at the Indian River State College Foundation office or online at www.tcgatorclub.com.

This year, the Treasure Coast Gator Club will award $1,500 scholarships to at least 17 students from Indian River and St. Lucie Counties, including incoming freshman and students who are already attending UF, said Richard Giessert, president of the Club. Students attending UF at the local Indian River Research and Education Center in Fort Pierce are also eligible to apply.

“Our scholarship program is open to all students pursuing an undergraduate degree from UF, not just incoming freshman,” Giessert said. “This makes it unique and very helpful for older students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. The scholarships are for one year only, but students are welcome to reapply each year until they graduate.”

Funds for the scholarship are provided through fundraising events such as the upcoming Treasure Coast Gator Toast scheduled for May 11 at the Pelican Yacht Club in Fort Pierce. Additional funds come from the Bryan Schirard Memorial Fund and the Arthur and Marian Block Endowment Fund, as well as other individuals who choose to name scholarships in memory or honor of a family member.

“I am so impressed by the diligent application process of the Club that I am personally donating funds for one scholarship,” Giessert said.
